Tabs with an Accordial Panel
Accordian Pannels make nice sidebar menus. An example of this is shown in the AquaAmy sidebar and Salnick Sidebar to the left side of this page.

Glider Panels can be place within an Accordian Panel. A good example of this is the Portfolio menu shown in the Salnick Sidebar to the left.
Tabs with an Elevator Panel
AquaAmy.com uses the Elevator panel as a sidebar menu and at the header for Contact and Make a Deposit links. Othe sites that use this function are:

Elevator Panels allow you to create collapsible boxes or groups of boxes. The optional animation effects are unique and expertly choreographed to make your page stand out from others. The system automatically generates sub-menu panels inside which you can add links, paragraphs, lists, tables, images, and even forms in single or multi-columnar format.
Animation: Choose from the glide animation or a Glide with Gradual Stop. Both animations will speed up or slow down depending on the amount of content inside a panel.
Rotation: The Rotator option allows each of the content panels to be displayed in a Slide Show fashion. This can be set to run automatically when the page first loads. The rotation can be limited to just one cycle or can be set to loop as many times as you like.

The Glide Panel navigation bar quickly identifies major sections and minimizes page scrolling by keeping more information above the fold.
Navication tabs can be links to other pages, files, or external Web sites. The "Sample" tab is a link to another page.
Your panel page is presented in a search engine-friendly structure that's accessible to all users at all times, even when JavaScript is not available. Navigation links are keyboard accessible and act as ordinary named anchors when JavaScript is not available, to deliver users straight to the relevant content.
Customization
The navigation bar is separated from the content column and placed anywhere on your page—in a left or right column or at the top of your page. You can even style your navigation bar to display horizontally.
